Silent sail

8 x 10 oil on stretched canvas

Last week I finally got a bit of time to paint again.  I figured since I was just getting back into it, I could paint however I wanted.  I felt quite freeing to use a palette knife and simply play with the colors and shapes.  This painting was inspired by one of my daughter Hadley's paintings she did several weeks ago using the same blues, reds and oranges and a series of triangles.  I started another painting as well and am thinking maybe I'll find a moment to finish it sometime in the next month.  Perhaps if the sweet little baby decides to start napping, I'll get back to painting more regularly - if.

  1. Gretch - I love, love, love this! I always tell people that one of the best classes I took at Midd was an abstract painting class where we were not allowed to use traditional painting tools (like brushes). This is wonderful. I hope the baby takes those naps so we can see more! xo
